Privacy Policy

Effective 19 October 2026

Gambit: Chess Coach ("Gambit") is made by Oluma Software. This policy covers the Mac app and this website.

The short version

Gambit collects no personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it does not connect to the internet.

What stays on your Mac

• Your games, lesson and puzzle progress, ratings and settings are saved in Gambit's sandboxed folder on your Mac. They are never sent anywhere.
• The name you type for yourself is only shown on the board.
• The coach's voice uses the speech voices built into macOS, on your Mac.

Purchases

Gambit Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account. Gambit only checks with macOS whether the purchase exists. Apple's handling is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may keep standard server logs for security.

Children

Gambit collects no data from anyone, including children.
